We got a minute to catch up with Anthony Mims former defensive player for the Mountaineers to see what he has been up to and reflect on his time in Morgantown. Thanks for all the memories Mr. Mims.

Couch Fire Sports: What have you been up to since you left Morgantown after the 2005 season?
Anthony Mims: Played a little more ball and now I’m just working like everybody else.

CFS: How do you remember your times at WVU?
AM: Best time of my life. Nothing like being able to play major college football in a great college town.

CFS: When you have picked off a pass or picked up a fumble, what is going through your mind?
AM: Where’s the open field? Don’t fumble to ball.

CFS: Who was the best player you faced while at WVU?
AM: Larry Fitzgerald/Chris Henry

CFS: Growing up, who did you look up to in life and sports?
AM: I always looked up to my 2 older brothers. They taught me alot about sports and life in general and are a big reason why I was successful at WVU.

CFS: What would you have changed about your time in Morgantown if you could?
AM: I wish I woulda had a damn car so I wasn’t stuck in the house all the time.

CFS: Your WVU career spanned during the most successful period in the programs history, What was your favorite moment?
AM: That’s a tough one. Either my first interception against Maryland in the OT win. That’s the first game I had family at. Or the Sugar Bowl win.

CFS: How do you feel about the negative light being shed on WVU by Ex Coach Rich Rodriguez?
AM: I think it’s some BS, but not mainly on Rods part, but the NCAA. Those “violations” can be seen at any other school in the country.

CFS: If you talked to Coach Rod on the phone, you would say … Hey Coach ….
AM: I’d wish him luck on the upcoming season and thank him for everything he’s done for me.

CFS: Tell us a story about the team or a teammate we never heard.
AM: Had a teammate named Jeff Thompson who thought he was my little brother. Showed up at my house all the time and still calls me today…….we are not related.

CFS: What is your favorite place to eat in Morgantown?
AM: Texas Roadhouse

CFS: What you got in the CD player right now?
AM: T.I.’s Paper Trail

We appreciate Anthony taking some time out of his life to share what he has been up to and how much he cherished the chance to be a Mountaineer. You are always welcome at any tailgate in Motown Mims. Thanks.
