Good ol’ Friday has arrived, they are so great, last day of the work week, football is just a day away, and Couch Fire Sports is warming up this fall day with some fire named Carrie. She loves WVU and wants to save her Catholic School, what man isn’t behind this? So help her out the link is below! Maybe if we raise her enough money she will send us a shot of her Catholic Uniform? So get out your CC and help out.
Hi Everyone! My name is Carrie Ann, I am 23 years old and I was born and raised in Wild Wonderful West Virginia! I am a 2009 alumnus of WVU and I love my Mountaineers!
Growing up I attended a small Catholic school in Clarksburg, WV. For those of you who are wondering, yes I wore the uniform, no, I don’t still have it ; ) I remember most kids dreading the end of summer, for them it meant heading back to school, but I never did. I love the first day of fall when you walk outside and take a deep breath of crisp mountain air and you think to yourself, “Smells like football season”. For me, the end of summer meant tailgating on Saturdays at Milan Puskar stadium, and singing Country Roads after every victory. With the winter came basketball games in the coliseum and snow covered mountains perfect for skiing.
I feel so blessed to have been raised in a place like West Virginia with an amazing family like mine. I am the baby of seven children, I have one sister and five older brothers, my big brothers had me yelling “Touchdown!” and cheering for the Mountaineers since I was still in diapers. In my family when Sunday roles around it means three things, church, pasta, and football (STEELERS).
Being from West Virginia I learned at an early age the value of hard work. I am eager to get out of this small town and see the world but I will never forget where I came from.

The grade school that I attended is in danger of being closed. The school needs a lot of structural work and the diocese has tried to find an alternate location for the school but it would be even more costly to build a new one. I have so many wonderful memories of St. Mary’s and it would be terrible loss for these kids to have no Catholic school in this area. If anyone is interested in making a donation to the school the following link will take you to a full story on the building project. I will also post a direct link to the school. Every little bit helps!
